I absolutely LOVE your website. I’m self taught and have been sewing for about 19 years.
I found your site by accident and now have bookmarked it. There is ALWAYS something to learn.
For example, I was today’s year old when I found out that while sewing cotton voile it is better to use a size 11 rather than a 14 needle thanks to you!
I’ll make that switch from now on.
Appreciate you!!!!

Hi Brandy
Sewing machines are what irritates me too:) I totally understand your frustration with sewing machines! 🙂 In my experience, investing a bit more in an affordable industrial machine, despite it being slightly pricier, can significantly reduce that frustration, especially compared to the typical cheap plastic sewing machines.
You can see my recommendations here in this post
Everything starts with ideas – Start with small projects.
Best wishes.

do you have youtube channel?thank you for helping your sewist friend pls add me to your mailing list
Hi Hamisu
Thanks for your nice words. Appreciate. I do not have a youtube channel, sorry.
Sarina,
Subject presentation has a subject maturity earned by origin environment, I’m a native of Metro Detroit. I cannot name that is so familiar from living amongst immigrants I have the utmost highest respect for how much they all have enriched & resurrected broken areas in the city of Detroit. Further more besides a do it your self, families first based on collective work hours more often as small business owners topped with a graduate/professional education. That alchemy is coming across for an activity you are passionate about. People have gone bonkers everywhere. What you have accomplished for sharing on these posts doesn’t require geography. Michigan economy forced moving out of state just about over a couple decades. See I’m nervous to share my location. Thank goodness I have a common non descript name.. Be Blessed.Post at your own descretion. For the record I have TBI that discombobulates my writing and speech. Please ask questions for clarity. This is about learning, creativity and your ability to present the broadest topic spectrum I’ve encountered.
Hi Robin
So nice of you to say that. It is great coming from an experienced sewer. Thanks. If you see mistakes (which is inevitable at times) hope you will point out.
Hi Jennifer,

I don’t know why I never saw this site the moment I made up my mind to learn using online resources I have bought 2 books- that I cannot even make head or tail of; I have made an online purchase from a site that’s meant to show me how to make pattern – basic dress block, skirt and pants but I ended up confused and almost loosing that determination to complete my learning.
I came across your site while searching for how to make fitted bedspreads; at least if I couldn’t make a headway with patterns, should be able to make bedspread for my kids as they return to school. Then I started stumbling on topics after topic on the site, so much resource, easy, simplified and make me get to work immediately. I just completed the basic bodice pattern and it was so so easy to understand! I am now going through the site in sequence, I am so glad!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, good job
Hi Olanrewaju
Thanks for this comment – Love reading that the site is helping people. I hope that you will do a lot better than what is in this site. Best wishes
Thank you!
Nilu
Hi Nilu
Thanks for the encouraging words. Hope you find the site as helpful as you wish
Sarina
Wonderful site, so glad I came across it. I am a huge fan of Kurta shirts, have a few from a great shop in Abu Dhabi (including a couple of unstitched that i just ordered today!).
Now I am planning to make my own, from the lawn cotton fabric brought back from Liberty of London.
So nice of you to share your knowledge and experience, thank you very much!

Hi Prabhojit
Thanks for the kind and encouraging comment. The form for subscribing is supposed to be there on the site. I don’t know why you cannot see it – may a tech glitch. I have added your email to the list.
Dear Sarina,
What a wonderful job you are doing here.
It is such a joy to find someone who shares steps on how to create something nice and then also the logic behind it – all in such a helpful way.
I have learnt to sew as a young girl and am still learning from you now.
Hi Lynne
